Faun VIAJET 7 R/L HS – Sweeper for construction sites and road washing

The VIAJET 7 can be used for both municipal road sweeping and on-road construction site. It comes with FAUN‘s patented air circulation system as standard, which guarantees the lowest emission values in the expelled air.

The VIAJET 7 R/L HS with an HS 2000 hydrostatic drive is a high-performance, universal sweeper equipped with a vast array of options. Sweeper units are fitted to both sides of the machine, enabling it to be used on local and major roads and to also sweep one-way roads and roundabouts in the correct direction.

The manual suction hose at the rear can be used to easily pick up sweepings and leaves and to also clean gullies. The rear suction system (an attachment variant on the machine) is particularly useful on construction sites when used in conjunction with the washer jets on the high-pressure pump.

The additional high-pressure washing beams on the shaft, broom, and central brush extend the machine’s area of application beyond conventional sweeping operations. The machine is also equipped with an interchangeable weed broom at the front of the vehicle. The operator can adjust the angle of the broom and change the direction of rotation, enabling it to be used for conventional weed removal and also for sweeping ahead of the front wheel to prevent the sweeper from compacting milled material when it is being used behind milling machines.

The weed broom can also be easily removed, enabling the maneuverable sweeper to carry out municipal maintenance cleaning. A wide range of light sources including working lights and side-mounted ambient lights as well as cameras and safety sensors make the machine easy to control and exceptionally safe. The working speed in sweeping mode can be continuously adjusted up to approximately 27 km/h.

The Opticruise system eliminates the need for manual gear changes during transport journeys. The VIAJET 7 is also an ergonomic place to work. The large, air-conditioned, sound-proofed driver’s cab with an integrated cool box provides operators with plenty of space. All driving and sweeping functions are clearly laid out on the well-structured operator terminal – making sweeping an enjoyable task.

The FAUN air circulation system continuously transports the extracted air from the debris container to the blowing nozzle behind the suction nozzle. When loaded with new debris, the already moistened and heated air is once again sucked into the suction nozzle and thereby circulated. The quantity of recirculating air can be variably adjusted between 30 and 70 % depending on the application.

Only the relatively small proportion of air that is not recirculated flows out smoothly under the machine. Fine dust emissions from the FAUN road sweeper with the air circulation system are therefore approximately 50 % lower than for pure suction road sweepers. In addition, the VIAJET 7 does not blow dust around, because clean exhaust air is expelled behind the sweeper units on the portion of the road which is already clean.

Adding water to the blast air also enables the road to be cleaned in the working area of the suction nozzle. In winter, it can be used in temperatures reaching down to -5 °C by adding water to the suction nozzle, as the air introduced into the circuit is heated by around 15 °C and therefore prevents the water in the suction nozzle and the container from freezing.

The HS 2000 is powered by a rear-engine PTO at approximately 400 hp, making it suitable for use with all chassis series transmissions. In sweeping mode, the chassis engine is maintained in the optimum operating range across all sweeping speeds, relieving the conventional drivetrain. The driver controls the speed via the normal accelerator pedal, and can quickly switch the direction of travel without changing gear. Cruise control is also available as an option for sweeping mode.
