HD Construction Equipment is expanding its specialized machinery lineup to target niche construction markets like foundation work, demolition, and waste recycling.
The company has announced the launch of its new 40-ton class DEVELON pile driver, delivering the first two units to customers. A pile driver is a specialized machine that drives long, heavy poles, or piles, deep into the ground. This creates a solid foundation that safely supports a building’s total weight.
HD Construction Equipment built this new model using a next-generation 40-ton excavator platform to meet the growing demand for large, high-performance machinery.
Engineered for repetitive, high-load operations, this durable machine features 70% longer excavator booms and arms to handle long steel materials and integrates a Smart Around View Monitor (SAVM) that uses dedicated software, AI cameras, and radar to detect the surrounding environment in real time.
Beyond pile drivers, the company is actively expanding into other professional equipment sectors to capture new market opportunities with a versatile lineup.
This expansion includes last year’s multi-functional pile driver, which combines drilling, driving, and extracting capabilities, as well as new high-reach demolition equipment for high-rise dismantling up to 15 stories and specialized material handlers for moving scrap metal and waste.
Rapid urbanization, city redevelopment, and massive global infrastructure projects are fueling the demand for specialized machinery. According to market research firms Persistence Market Research and Market Size & Trends, significant global growth is projected between 2026 and 2033, with the global pile driver market expected to grow 4.8% annually to reach $21.2 billion (approx. KRW 32 trillion). During the same period, the demolition and material handling equipment market is forecast to expand at an annual rate of 5.8%, reaching $1.99 billion (approx. KRW 3 trillion).
“As job sites become more complex, the demand for equipment optimized for specific, professional tasks is steadily rising,” said an official from HD Construction Equipment. “We will continue to develop customized machinery to pioneer these new markets.”
