Automatic tilt angle for Trimble’s users with tiltrotator from Rototilt

The machine control manufacturer Trimble is now launching a revolutionary new feature for its users: total integration with Rototilt’s tiltrotator system. The function, called Automatic Grade Control, means that the tilt angle adapts automatically to the model in the machine control system, allowing the operator to focus on the height and the rotation.
Trimble and Rototilt are launching complete support for automatic positioning of the tilt angle according to the model in the excavation system. This means that the operator can concentrate more on what is happening on the ground and only needs to keep an eye on the height and rotation.
“Automatic Grade Control is an incredibly time-saving feature that our customers have been longing for. The industry’s demands for productivity and profitability are increasing the need for automation, so integration with Rototilt is an obvious step,” says Fredrik Eklind, Product Manager Machine Control at Trimble.
Automatic Grade Control is part of RPS, Rototilt’s positioning solution. This means that customers using Rototilt’s ICS control system with built-in sensors can activate RPS and thereby integrate the tiltrotator into their Trimble machine control system.
“We can clearly see increasing levels of customer interest in our RPS positioning solution. Automated functions are making the excavator operator even smarter, with greater precision and increased efficiency,” says Sven-Roger Ekström, Product Manager at Rototilt Group AB.
System requirements:
– Tiltrotator R3-R9 from Rototilt with the ICS control system, software version 2.12.4 or later, as well as Rototilt Positioning Solution (RPS)
– Trimble Earthworks machine control platform with GS520 sensors and software version 1.7.0 or later. The function demands a separate licence.
Automatic Grade Control is supported by Leica machine control system since before.
