Raimondi expands popular T Series range with new flat-top tower crane

Raimondi Cranes today presented the T87 flat-top tower crane, the latest model in the T Series range, and the successor of the long-serving MRT84. Developed to carry forward a legacy of reliability while embracing new engineering advancements, the T87 brings enhanced performance, smarter technology, and exceptional versatility to today’s construction landscape.

The new model’s lightweight design, coupled with high-performance metrics, makes the T87 particularly suited for small to medium-sized jobsites where space constraints are a key challenge.

With its heaviest single component weighing less than 3t and a compact 8m counterjib, the T87 features optimized weights and dimensions. This allows the full 51m jib, including all counterweights, to be transported efficiently, using only two articulated trucks. These design advantages greatly simplify logistics, allowing for smooth erection procedures, even in densely built or hard-to-access urban areas.

As the latest crane in the T Series lineup, the T87 shares the range’s modularity of mechanical and carpentry parts. The flexibility of choices, 5t with II/IV falls or 3t with permanent II falls, allows for fleet rental companies to address different project needs.

“The first units of the T87 have already been delivered to several key accounts across France and Italy, with installations now active in regions like Lombardia, Marche, and Campania. Early feedback confirms the crane’s agility and adaptability across diverse site conditions,” commented Mauro Masetti, Sales Director, Raimondi Cranes.

One of the most significant installations, completed by Tecnoedicasa, showcases the T87’s capabilities in a highly restrictive environment. Configured with a 51 meter jib and installed at 45 meters under hook, the crane was erected in a historic neighbourhood of Ascoli Piceno, Italy.

With the site presenting significant constraints and no access for articulated trucks, the T87’s lightweight key components, jib sections limited to 6 meters, and modular design ensured ease of installation and efficient operations.

In addition to its structural advantages, the T87 is equipped with Raimondi ConCore, the company’s latest generation control system. ConCore enables swift calibration, simplified commissioning, and remote access for real-time monitoring and control, supporting enhanced safety, efficiency, and proactive maintenance across the crane’s lifecycle.

“With its engineering refinements and jobsite adaptability, the T87 is set to become the optimal choice for contractors seeking a high performing, easily managed flat-top tower crane,” concluded Masetti.
