The new Tadano GTC 1800EX telescopic boom crawler crane clearly fits Vienna-based crane service provider Prangl’s acquisition plans perfectly – this is why the Austrian company just ordered two units of this model through Tadano Sales Manager Hans Asam.
General Manager Christian Prangl explains the reason behind the purchase decision: “The Tadano GTC-1800EX is a top state-of-the-art machine that is extremely versatile and comes with a whole series of incredibly compelling technical features.”
Among them, he mentions the crawler track width, which can be configured asymmetrically in a continuously variable manner and makes the crawler crane adaptable to all kinds of terrain conditions.
The unit’s large lifting capacity was also decisive. “Wind turbine towers keep getting heavier and heavier, which of course requires more lifting capacity. The GTC-1800EX provides this capacity with up to 156 tonnes,” he explains. In addition, the new telescopic boom crawler crane will make it possible for the company to set up its lattice boom crawler cranes much faster.
For Christian Prangl, the GTC-1800EX is also a good example of the advantages behind the integration of Demag into the Tadano Group, as the cranes from these two manufacturers are now combining the strengths of both brands. And last, but not least, the two cranes were available quickly – they are expected to be delivered in April 2021 already.
