The Open-S Alliance welcomes excavator attachments manufacturer MHA Construction Equipment (China), and earthmoving attachments manufacturer Norm Engineering Pty Ltd (Australia) as members. They are the first companies from China and Australia to join the organization. With this addition to the list of members, the Open-S standard continues its international growth.
Open-S is an initiative created in 2020 by industry leaders Steelwrist and Rototilt, with the purpose of developing a global standard for automatic couplers. The objective is to give machine owners and contractors the freedom to combine couplers, tiltrotators and work tools for excavators from different manufacturers following the Open-S standard. The interest and support for the standard has increased steadily the past couple of years, with member applications and inquiries reaching the organization from companies in many different countries. Open-S Alliance is an independent industry organization with the sole purpose of developing the Open-S standard for automatic couplers further.
MHA Construction Equipment is a China-based manufacturer of excavator attachments for demolition, recycling, and material handling applications. Driven by a technically focused and agile team, MHA designs and manufactures pulverisers, shears, and grapples with a strong emphasis on interface compatibility and reliable fitment across different excavator platforms, supporting professional applications worldwide.
“For MHA, joining the Open-S Alliance reflects our commitment to open standards and long-term compatibility. Standardization plays a key role in improving safety, efficiency and interoperability in demolition and recycling, and Open-S provides a strong platform for industry-wide collaboration”, says Mark Kang, Marketing General Manager, MHA Construction Equipment.
Since 1984, Norm Engineering has designed and manufactured earthmoving attachments for mini loaders, skid steers, track loaders, excavators, backhoes, telehandlers and tractors. As an Australian manufacturer, Norm Engineering understands the tough Australian environment and have built buckets to withstand its harsh conditions.
“Norm Engineering Pty Ltd has joined the Open-S Alliance allowing us to further enhance our attachment offerings around the globe. We are ecstatic about the opportunity this provides our organisation and industry”, says John Pesch, Director, Norm Engineering Limited.
“We are thrilled to welcome MHA Construction Equipment and Norm Engineering, two well-established attachments manufacturers, as members of the organization. This emphasizes the importance of interoperability and freedom of choice for the customers, and highlights the commitment to the idea behind the Open-S standard”, says Stefan Stockhaus, Chairman of the Board of Open-S Alliance.
