At the 34th Bauma, the world’s leading trade fair, everything revolved around construction machinery, mining machinery, building material machines, and construction vehicles and equipment. Known for its innovative mining machines, Paus showcased the new UNIVERSA 55.
Hermann Paus Maschinenfabrik announced the launch of the UNIVERSA 55, the latest addition to their esteemed lineup of robust and versatile mining and tunneling vehicles. As the successor to the proven UNI 50-3, the UNIVERSA 55 sets a new standard for compact carrier vehicles, offering an array of features tailored to meet the diverse needs of underground operations.
The UNIVERSA 55 stands out with its sophisticated modular design, allowing for pre-assembled modules with intelligent interfaces that simplify customization to customer specifications. This modularity, combined with quick interchangeable cassettes, ensures that the vehicle can be swiftly adapted for various tasks, whether it’s transporting people or material in underground environments.
Additionally, the spacious, rubber-cushioned cab, with three suspended seats, provides comfort and noise insulation, making long shifts more manageable for operators.
Enhanced performance and safety
Engineered with a front axle suspension system, the UNIVERSA 55 delivers smoother, safer driving experience. This model is also equipped with features that enhance maintenance and service accessibility, such as the strategic placement of hydraulic and electric components in separated, water/dust-protected areas. The vehicle’s operating weight of 9 t and the availability of multiple engine variants from DEUTZ, Mercedes Benz, Caterpillar, and Cummins, coupled with a robust engine power of up to 172 hp (129 kW) ensures optimal performance under the most demanding conditions.
The UNIVERSA 55 is not just a machine, it’s a smart machine. With onboard diagnostics, operators can monitor vital operational data in real-time, including drive line sensors, actuators, and more. The system also supports the diagnosis of active faults, allowing for timely interventions that minimize downtime. Moreover, the vehicle is compatible with the PAUS Connect Cloud (PCC), providing features such as real-time monitoring, geofencing, statistical analysis, and remote operation approval, ensuring that your operations are both efficient and secure.
The UNIVERSA 55 is designed with the future in mind, incorporating options such as radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, safety belt monitoring, automatic parking brake, biometric fingerprint engine start, collision warning systems, and a Dead Man’s Switch for enhanced safety. These features, combined with the vehicle’s modularity and advanced diagnostic capabilities, make it a vital asset for any mining or tunneling operation looking to stay ahead of the curve.
Hermann Paus Maschinenfabrik remains committed to innovation and quality, ensuring that every product meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. The UNIVERSA 55 is a testament to this commitment, providing the perfect balance of power, versatility, and technological advancement.
