The new CH 650 to debut at ConExpo 2017

Comacchio is proud to announce the latest addition to its line of hydraulic drill rigs for large diameter drilling, the CH 650, that will make its debut at CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas.

The CH 650 is a multipurpose drilling rig with an operating weight of approx. 70 tons. The rig, mounted on a dedicated excavator carrier, is self-erecting and can be transported in one piece, thus allowing for easy and fast rig-up. The variable gauge undercarriage (3000 to 4270 mm) allows for reduced dimensions during transport and ensures, when opened, a good stability of the machine during operation.

The CH 650 is designed to cover a wide range of drilling technologies that include bored piles, continuous flight auger (CFA piles), displacement pilesand soil mixing. The rig can be supplied in the CPD (cylinder pull down) and WPD (winch pull down) versions and can be equipped with kelly bars of different diameters, including HD (heavy duty) bars and XHD (extra heavy duty) bars, with minor changes on the rotary head. The latter, offering 262 kNm nominal torque, is connected to the Comacchio Controlling System (CCS), a software developed exclusively by Comacchio that allows for the control and monitoring of the drilling parameters and performance through a 12” touch screen.

The CH 650 on display in Las Vegas will feature a WPD configuration, with a 16000 mm stroke mast and 330 kN pull up/down force. In this configuration the machine can be used for the construction of cased or uncased bored piles with 2000 – 2500 mm max. diameter up to 69 m deep. The WPD version of the machine can be supplied with a CFA conversion kit. In this way, the machine can be used for CFA piles with a max. diameter of 1000 mm up to 22.5 m deep, using a 17.5 m long auger string and 7 m long auger extension.
The machine on show in Las Vegas will feature a Caterpillar C 9.3 engine delivering 240 kW / 321 HP power, complying with the latest EU Stage IV / US EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards.
