Kögel Trailer GmbH presented its newly developed Kögel tipper body at this year’s bauma in Munich. With this innovation, the company is expanding its product portfolio for the construction industry, road construction and waste disposal. The low tare weight of the vehicle enables an optimized payload. A well-balanced chassis and a wide, low-slung body ensure high driving stability and load capacity. The one-piece body promises better wear resistance and therefore a longer service life and offers companies in the construction and ancillary construction industries more flexibility and efficiency on the road and in the sand or gravel pit.
The new Kögel tipper body impresses with an optimum ratio of tare weight to payload. The minimum version only weighs approx. 5,200 kilograms and offers a choice of skip sizes of 24 m³ or 27 m³.
By using high-strength fine-grain steels in the chassis frame, Kögel guarantees high durability and stability. The reinforced rear frame ensures optimum force distribution when tipping, while the weight-optimized and torsion-resistant chassis ensures high stability. The short, maneuverable wheelbase makes maneuvering easier and ensures outstanding driving characteristics. In addition, the Kögel tipper body is calculated in accordance with FEM standards and has been tested on rough roads and by customers.
Good stability thanks to innovative trough design
The one-piece welded, wide and low-set body gives the vehicle a high level of stability thanks to its low center of gravity. Made from wear-resistant, tempered sheet steel, it meets the high demands of the construction industry. “The smooth, straight inner surface minimizes dirt deposits and makes cleaning easier,” explains Product Manager Wolfgang Reitböck. “We took customer requests into account and realized that less is more with the trough design.” Every protruding edge, every angle and every weld seam causes unwanted material deposits – both inside and out.
An integrated canopy prevents the loss of load during the journey and is operated either manually or electronically. Thanks to its wear- and corrosion-resistant sheet steel, the body is ideal for transporting abrasive materials such as crushed stone, sand and gravel.
Thanks to the impressive tilting angle of 49°, fast and efficient unloading without material residue is guaranteed.
Perfect for asphalt transport
In addition to the new tipper body, Kögel will also be exhibiting the asphalt tipper body, which has been on the market for some time. The body of the tried and tested Kögel asphalt tipper body has a water-repellent, temperature-resistant rigid foam insulation in a floating, maintenance-friendly design. It features the tried and tested, two-part Kögel design. The 170 mm longer body overhang makes road construction considerably easier. A practical sliding roof, which can be operated either manually or by remote control, reduces heat and material loss.
The vehicle’s short wheelbase is ideal for maneuvering in confined spaces. Other highlights include an extendable access ladder for safe access and steps in the body as standard. Customers also have the option of choosing an asphalt pusher, which enables the precise dosing of small quantities of material.
The reliable asphalt tipper body, which is characterized by its lightweight construction with high-strength fine-grain steels and its loading volume of 24m³ or 27m³, complements Kögel’s construction portfolio in the road and asphalt construction sector and is ideally suited for use on construction sites.
High-quality materials and durable design
Kögel stands for low operating costs, high efficiency and a long service life for its vehicles. Thanks to the use of first-class materials, effective corrosion protection and a maintenance-friendly design, Kögel tipping vehicles guarantee a sustainable investment for companies in the construction industry.
