Demag’s DC series, which was presented for the first time exactly twenty years ago, has established itself as the industry benchmark for chain hoists. The development of the second generation takes into account the development trends of recent years and leads the product range into the future.
The new Demag DC-II series is already characterised by two lifting speeds in the (comprehensively equipped) DC-Com II basic version, which can be used to perform lifting operations of up to five metres either quickly or with precision. The high-end DC-Pro II variant offers even more options, especially in terms of speeds. The comprehensive safety package also includes a slipping clutch with automatic cut-off through speed monitoring, 24 V contactor control, operating limit switch and elapsed operating time counter.
Long service life was an important goal in the development of DC-II chain hoists. With the 2m, 2m+, 3m or 4m group of mechanisms, up to 6,300 operating hours can be achieved – with low service and maintenance requirements. Demag Plus in the 2m+ group of mechanisms achieves 20% more service life in terms of operating hours.
Essential components such as the gearbox and brake are even largely maintenance-free. This is made possible by a well thought-out design typical of Demag, the use of high-quality components and production according to the “Made in Wetter” principle. This applies not only to the chain hoist itself, but also to the DC-II gearbox.
Demag partners and users benefit from the “plug and lift” principle when assembling and installing the new chain hoist. Servicing can also be carried out quickly as all wear parts are easily accessible, and the modular design of the DC-II also facilitates maintenance.
From the point of view of the user, the DC-II enables both efficient and safe handling of loads – highly dynamic or very sensitive, depending on requirements. The smooth starting and braking of the motor reduces load sway, and the ergonomic operation via the height-adjustable control pendant further contributes to the high level of safety in all lifting tasks.
The new DC-II thus consolidates its claim to be the industry benchmark. From its inception, eight different combinations with load capacities of 125 to 1,000 kg and five four-meter (DC-Com) hook paths are available directly from the warehouse in Wetter. The transition of the existing chain hoist range to the new generation is ongoing. Once it is complete, the entire DC chain hoist range will be available in the DC-II generation.
