ATLAS, a pioneer of rail-road excavator technology, can look back on more than 60 years of innovation. Since 1965, when the first ATLAS rail-road excavator revolutionized the industry, the company distinguished itself in efficiency and technological supremacy. From standard model all the way to custom-made design – ATLAS have the best solution for any challenge. At this year’s InnoTrans in Berlin, ATLAS GmbH is going to present its new excavator model 235RR – a powerful, sturdy and stable rail-road excavator.
The ATLAS commitment to top performance and the power of innovation is reflected in every detail of the 235RR. With an operating weight of 22 – 23.5 tons and a powerful 115 kW Deutz 4-cylinder inline engine, the rail-road excavator provides impressive power and stability. The water-cooled engine with turbocharging and the Deutz Common-Rail (DCR) high-pressure injection system ensure high engine performance at low fuel consumption and comply with the emission standards of EU stage 5 and US EPA Tier 4 final. The ATLAS 235 RR will be available with OQ Rail and Likufix system.
The new hydraulic system made by Linde ensures quick response times by providing maximum utilization of the available engine performance due to a hydraulic load-sensing system and an electronically controlled pump. This intelligent performance control ensures precise and powerful work functions that can be adjusted to various operating conditions. For maximum operating performance, a power boost is available as well.
The 235RR features a robust undercarriage structure that ensures high uptime and a high degree of stability. The heavy-duty axle design is excellently suited for driving on demanding tracks. The ball bearing slewing ring made by Rothe Erde ensures high resilience and a long service life.
In addition, ATLAS offer a wide range of attachment tools, produced in-house and designed for maximum efficiency and wear-resistance. These attachment tools are specifically designed to fit the excavator models perfectly and help to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
The new control units feature state-of-the-art technology and allow extensive retrofitting at a later time to meet future requirements.
The ATLAS 235RR impresses by its high machine uptime and flexibility. A telemetric system provides relevant data for a smooth completion of projects. The machine complies with the highest standards, including DIN EN 15746-1-3 and the applicable road approval. ATLAS understand the importance of efficiency at the construction site. The ATLAS 235RR saves precious minutes as it can be re-railed and de-railed in record time. Time is money!
Special safety features of the 235RR comprise a standard rear-view camera, integrated side camera, front and rear LED driving light, and a 270-degree camera for a comprehensive view.
Featuring a wide door, non-slip steps and an ergonomically design control panel, the cab provides a high level of comfort and safety for the driver. The premium seat is individually adjustable and ensures the highest seat comfort, supported by air conditioning and an intuitive user interface.
Serviceability is another benefit of the t235RR. Easily accessible service points save downtime and maintenance costs, and the optional telemetric system allows for real-time monitoring of the machine data. In addition, the rail-road excavator is equipped with a powerful railroad car brake that allows to safely pull heavy loads up to 120 tons.
The 235RR combines compact external dimensions with high maneuverability and low noise emission. The ATLAS engineers placed special emphasis on a low-noise emission and comfortable “feel-good” cab that is characterized by special soundproofing and ergonomic design. From the seat, the driver has quick access to all key operating elements. This includes the flexibly pivoted and adjustable control panel, the ergonomically formed joystick, and the large 12-inch display. In addition, all control levers and panels are arranged so they can be reached easily and intuitively.
