Huddig has launched the HUDDIG 1370 TIGON G2 – the next generation of Tigon technology

Huddig has launched the next generation of the HUDDIG TIGON. With greater battery capacity, more equipment options, and a new connected platform, the concept has been further developed in several key areas.

Just as with previous technological advances in Huddig’s history, the work on Tigon Technology is generating new knowledge and innovative solutions. These experiences contribute to the continued development of the entire HUDDIG 1370 platform—for both hybrid machines and hydrostatic-driven models.

HUDDIG The TIGON G2 is an important step in Huddig’s continued development. We build machines that meet our customers’ high demands for performance, efficiency, and flexibility. At the same time, we are constantly seeking new ways to improve the workday for those who work in and around the machine. In the new TIGON generation, we combine our long experience with excavator loader with ongoing technological development and electrification. We’re also developing how we’ll build our machines going forward,” says Håkan Bäckström, CEO of Huddig.

Real-world machine data drives development
HUDDIG The 1370 TIGON G2 builds on the experience gained from the first mass-produced generation. Four years of customer feedback, collected machine data, and practical experience from machines in operation have provided Huddig with a valuable foundation.

Machine data shows that they have been powered by electricity for 56.68 percent of their operating time and have saved an estimated 531,621 liters of diesel. This corresponds to approximately 1,372 metric tons of CO₂.

“With nearly 100,000 hours of actual operation, we’ve had a very solid foundation for our development work. The larger battery makes it possible to run on electric power even more, and we therefore expect to be able to improve these figures even further with the TIGON G2 HUDDIG ,” says Daniel Åkerström, design engineer at Huddig.

A larger battery provides more time on electric power
One of the biggest new features of the HUDDIG 1370 TIGON G2 is its new battery. The capacity has increased from 44 to 61 kWh—an increase of nearly 40 percent. The higher capacity doesn’t just provide more available energy. The machine can also harness significantly more of the energy recovered while driving, such as during braking and when driving downhill.

The battery performs optimally within the range of approximately 20–80 percent. With the higher capacity, there is now significantly more usable energy within this operating range. The result is more time running on electric power, more efficient energy recovery, and fewer charging cycles over time.

HUDDIG The 1370 TIGON G2 can be equipped for even more types of work. The new generation is compatible with a wider range of Huddig’s equipment lineup, including a loader-mounted crane (LCC), Huddig’s new remote control for the machine (RC), the LIFT Type II, and the LIFT 2200C, which can also be equipped with an RC and an insulated basket (LWI).

This makes the machine even more flexible and suitable for a wider range of applications—from traditional construction projects to utility work and railway work.

For contractors, it’s about being able to do more with the same machine. “The combination of extended electric runtime and more attachment options makes the HUDDIG TIGON G2 even more versatile and provides greater freedom to adapt the machine to the job at hand. The electric powertrain can also provide a clear competitive advantage in jobs where low emissions and low noise levels are becoming increasingly important,” says Daniel Myrgren, Marketing and Sales Manager at Huddig.

Connected via Huddig Echo
HUDDIG The 1370 TIGON G2 is also compatible with Huddig Echo—Huddig’s fleet management system for operators and machine owners. The new web app brings together information about the machines in one place. It includes operating data, machine status, fuel levels, and a comprehensive overview of the entire machine fleet. This provides better opportunities to track the machines, plan the workday, and gain a clearer picture of how they are being used. In the long run, the system will also offer more opportunities to interact directly with the machines.
