Hitachi Construction Machinery has announced the launch of the EH4000AC-5, the first model in the new EH AC-5 series. The next-generation rigid dump truck offers high hauling capability through a combination of high-speed transport, strong torque output, and enhanced structural durability. It is designed to help reduce cycle times, improve fleet efficiency, and support stable operations across a wide range of site conditions.

Faster haul speeds
Optimized torque and energy control means that the EH4000AC-5 dump truck is capable of a stronger uphill performance than the previous generation AC-3 version. A high-capacity grid box and refined brake system support stable retarding during loaded downhill runs, maintaining consistent deceleration across long hauls.

Compared with the AC-3, the new AC-5 model improves speed both uphill and downhill, reducing total cycle time. Even in tough terrain, the AC-5 ensures reliable speed and control – boosting haul productivity.

Heavier payloads
The high-rigidity frame is engineered through advanced stress analysis to maintain stability under heavy payloads. Enhanced structural durability and optimised control systems ensure safe, efficient hauling. Compared with the AC-3, the AC-5 supports higher payloads without sacrificing speed or control – delivering maximum productivity across the haul cycle.

Smarter efficiency
The AC-5 enhances fuel efficiency without changing the engine. An adaptive twin-fan cooling system delivers just the right amount of cooling when needed – reducing unnecessary energy use.

Selectable work modes help tailor performance to site conditions, optimising fuel consumption. This balance of power and efficiency maximizes haulage per litre of fuel. Rather than simply saving fuel, the AC-5 turns every drop into greater productivity – supporting long-term gains in life-cycle cost performance.
