{"id":6194,"date":"2017-10-31T20:27:39","date_gmt":"2017-10-31T17:27:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mequipment.ro\/?p=6194"},"modified":"2017-11-01T03:35:34","modified_gmt":"2017-11-01T00:35:34","slug":"jcb-loadall-a-implinit-40-de-ani","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/en\/jcb-loadall-a-implinit-40-de-ani\/","title":{"rendered":"Loadall marks 40 years of production"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jcb.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">JCB<\/a><\/strong> is celebrating a major milestone in its long record of innovative machine design \u2013 the 40th anniversary of the Loadall telescopic handler. First launched on October 20th, 1977 the machine mechanized lifting and loading tasks on building sites more usually carried out by a small team of men.<\/em> <\/p>\n<p>The potential for the Loadall in agriculture was also quickly harnessed and it went on to revolutionize materials handling tasks on farms, stacking bales, loading muck and shoveling grain, replacing rudimentary tractor mounted hydraulic loaders. JCB has sold more than 220,000 Loadalls to date, generating more than \u00a37 billion in sales &#8211; \u00a34.5 billion of which has been from exports. <\/p>\n<p>Today daily output of JCB telehandlers at the World HQ in Staffordshire is currently at its highest level since the launch, with the number of machines built expected to increase by 25% by the end of the year compared to 2016. Such is the success of the product that one Loadall rolls off JCB\u2019s Rocester production line every six minutes. The business making the machines today employs more than 1,200 people.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/1300020272_3642-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/1300020272_3642-1.jpg 450w, https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/1300020272_3642-1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/>Today JCB Chairman Lord Bamford said: \u201cWhen we launched the Loadall in 1977, we sold just 64 machines that year but we were very confident that the telescopic handler would grow in popularity simply because it made jobs so much easier on construction sites and on farms. The concept soon took off and the faith we put in the telescopic handler four decades ago has been repaid. It\u2019s wonderful to celebrate 40 years of success of the Loadall with production hitting historic levels. I\u2019d like to congratulate everyone around the world who has contributed to this success over the past 40 years. We must now look forward to the next 40 years and build on what has been achieved so far.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It took almost 30 years for JCB to sell the first 100,000 Loadalls but it took less than 10 years for the next 100,000 to be sold \u2013 testament to the growing importance of the product and JCB\u2019s strength in this sector. JCB is World Number One for telescopic handlers with more than one in every three sold being a JCB.<\/p>\n<p>The public launch of the JCB Loadall on October 20th, 1977 was promoted under the banner of \u2018Obsolescence Day is Coming\u2019 as an indication that the new machine, with its ability to reach forwards and upwards, would render the masted forklift obsolete. <\/p>\n<p><strong>JCB Loadall facts:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00b7 There are 34 base models and over 1,000 individual configurations.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Welding during Loadall manufacture consumes more than 14.5 million meters of wire per year.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Each Loadall takes around 35 stages to produce and 8 hours to assemble.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Loadall manufacture consumes more than 35,000 tonnes of steel a year.<br \/>\n\u00b7 A recent \u00a31 million investment brought new precision laser and plasma cutting equipment.<br \/>\n\u00b7 A 650-tonne steel press forms the telescopic boom box sections.<br \/>\n\u00b7 On average, it takes 45 minutes to make two sides of the heavy-duty chassis.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Robots handle 70% of chassis welds \u2013 but skilled operators tackle hard to access welds.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Preparing and painting booms, chassis, and stabilizers (on construction models) takes two hours.<br \/>\n\u00b7 The painting facility uses 73,000 liters of primer and 50,000 liters of gloss paint per year.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Every Loadall spends 13 minutes at full speed in a roller test booth to calibrate the driveline.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Every Loadall must hold a test weight with the boom fully raised and extended for 10 minutes. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JCB is celebrating a major milestone in its long record of innovative machine design \u2013 the 40th anniversary of the Loadall telescopic handler.
