Huddig<\/a><\/strong> launches a new version of HUDDIG 1260D RAIL with hydraulically driven railway wheels. This means that the machine can be driven with railway wheels only and access stretches of rail line where driving on rubber tires is not permitted. Other advantages are that the machine can be driven faster and is also more stable in transport mode.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"In Huddig’s solution, a hydraulic motor drives the two rear railway wheels via an axle with locked differential. This reduces the risk of wear and heat build-up when driving at higher speeds, which can occur when several hydraulic motors are synchronised. Operation is switched between rubber tires and railway wheels when driving in the raised and lowered position respectively.<\/p>\n

The design allows for operation and braking at up to 40 km\/h. The drive axle is equipped with separate systems for service and parking brakes. The speed can be limited if desired, but to ensure a forward looking design Huddig has chosen to build for faster transport and export markets now.<\/p>\n

Huddig 1260D RAIL is available with both driven and non-driven railway wheels. 1260D RAIL machines that have already been delivered can later be upgraded to driven wheels, with a new rear railway fixture, axle and updated software. The driven railway wheels comply with the requirements and rules of EN15746.
