Erkat<\/a><\/strong> is based in H\u00e4mbach, Germany, and has sales and service locations worldwide. The company makes drum cutter attachments for excavators used primarily in construction and demolition and for quarries and tunnels. The Erkat brand name is well recognized for premium quality and continuous innovation.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Erkat business includes 38 employees, and it had revenues in 2015 of MEUR 12.
\n\u201cDrum cutters are an ideal complementary product for Atlas Copco<\/a><\/strong> as a solution provider in rock excavation, tunnel and foundation profiling and demolition,\u201d said Andrew Walker, President of Atlas Copco\u2019s Construction Technique business area. \u201cErkat\u2019s highly qualified team will be a valuable asset as we help customers increase productivity.\u201d
\nThe parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2017.
