{"id":26528,"date":"2026-05-19T17:43:53","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T15:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/?p=26528"},"modified":"2026-05-19T18:00:03","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T16:00:03","slug":"autogrederele-cat-150-si-160-trec-la-platforma-next-generation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/en\/autogrederele-cat-150-si-160-trec-la-platforma-next-generation\/","title":{"rendered":"Cat Motor Graders move 150 and 160 to the Next Generation platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cat.com\/en_GB.html\" target=\"_blank\">Caterpillar<\/a><\/strong> continues to shift its range of motor graders to the <strong>Next Generation platform<\/strong>, announcing the <strong>Cat 150 and 160 Motor Graders<\/strong> as the latest models to receive the redesign &#8211; helping customers solve their toughest challenges through smarter controls, improved efficiency and enhanced operator comfort.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Joystick controls redefine operator comfort <\/strong><br \/>\nBoth models now feature <a href=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/?s=caterpillar\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"darkorange\">Caterpillar<\/font><\/a>\u2019s easy-to-use joystick steering controls: optional on the Cat 150 and fitted as standard to the Cat 160. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cat-150-joystick_1.jpg\" alt=\"Autogrederele Cat 150 \u0219i 160 trec la platforma Next Generation\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-26531\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cat-150-joystick_1.jpg 400w, https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cat-150-joystick_1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>\u201cHours of ergonomic research shows how joystick controls reduce hand and arm movements for the operator, when compared to the usual lever and steering configuration,\u201d says Eric Kohout, Caterpillar senior product consultant for motor graders. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cReducing operator fatigue is key to maintaining and improving productivity,\u201d he points out, \u201cso transferring control into two, three-axis joysticks completely redefines operator comfort.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Precision grading through smarter power and transmission <\/strong><br \/>\nThe joysticks place transmission, gear shifting and machine-direction control on the left, while the right handles drawbar, circle and moldboard functions as well as throttle control and the manual differential lock and unlock. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cat-150-joystick_2.jpg\" alt=\"Autogrederele Cat 150 \u0219i 160 trec la platforma Next Generation\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-26532\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cat-150-joystick_2.jpg 400w, https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cat-150-joystick_2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>Both the 150 and 160 offer exacting control through nine forward and six reverse gears, with a new offering of a finish gear that allows the operator to achieve precise grading results. Used for the final stage of the grading process, the finish gear ensures that the ground is uniform and even, delivering the specified slope and elevation requirements for the most demanding construction projects. The 150 sports a 12-foot moldboard as standard, with a 14-footer on the 160; upgrades are available to 14 and 16 feet, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/en\/autogrederul-cat-140-trece-la-urmatoarea-generatie\/\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"darkorange\">The Next Generation platform<\/font><\/a> is all about efficiency, productivity and operator comfort,\u201d says Kohout. \u201cThese new models achieve those objectives in many ways.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom a practical perspective, the new models maintain the dimensions of those they replace with a C9.3 engine providing strong, consistent power to the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cat-160-joystick_1.jpg\" alt=\"Autogrederele Cat 150 \u0219i 160 trec la platforma Next Generation\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-26533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cat-160-joystick_1.jpg 400w, https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cat-160-joystick_1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><strong>Redesigned cab enhances visibility and operator experience <\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cAnother obvious improvement is in the fully redesigned cab, first seen on the upgraded 120 and 140 models. Larger windows provide better visibility all around the cab, with particular focus on the moldboard and tires, while we continue the \u2018operator first\u2019 approach by improving HVAC and seat adjustment options.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><strong>Integrated technology for safer, faster grading <\/strong><br \/>\nVisibility can be further enhanced by specifying the optional integrated rear vision, front vision, 360-degree cameras and Caterpillar\u2019s People Detection system, all feeding into the cab\u2019s 10-inch touchscreen. The same touchscreen also controls optional technologies, such as Cat Grade. Both models allow easy upgrades to attachments, ensuring they hit grade faster. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s exciting to see the Next Generation features arriving with the 150 and 160,\u201d Kohout enthuses. \u201cCaterpillar motor graders have long been revered for their \u2018grade any terrain\u2019 capability and impressive jobsite productivity. The new platform serves only to make that offering more robust still.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The Cat 150 with joystick option will launch in European countries in the second half of 2026.
