Cu un impact semnificativ \u00een sectoarele de construc\u021bii \u0219i minerit, ma\u0219inile sale au transformat lumea. \u00cens\u0103 produsul care a fost un adev\u0103rat game-changer pentru Euclid a fost primul autocamion rigid off-road din lume. De la achizi\u021bia companiei de c\u0103tre General Motors p\u00e2n\u0103 la recunoa\u0219terea atins\u0103 sub brandul Terex, istoria Euclid nu a fost deloc liniar\u0103, iar succesul a avut un cost: \u00eensu\u0219i numele Euclid.<\/em><strong> | M. Equipment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00cen buna tradi\u021bie a <em>mequipment.ro<\/em>, continu\u0103m <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/tag\/history\/\" target=\"_blank\">seria \u201eHistory\u201d<\/a><\/strong> cu un nume de legend\u0103: Euclid. Dar nu renumitul matematician grec din Alexandria Egiptului, considerat p\u0103rintele geometriei, ci ma\u0219inile care au stat la baza camioanelor rigide de mai t\u00e2rziu, f\u0103r\u0103 de care sectorul minier ar fi f\u0103cut, probabil, mai t\u00e2rziu pasul c\u0103tre exploatarea la scar\u0103 mare. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Anii de \u00eenceput  <\/strong><br \/>\nCompania, care ulterior a devenit Euclid, a fost <strong>fondat\u0103 \u00een 1907<\/strong>, \u00een Wickliffe, Ohio, de c\u0103tre George A. Camioanele de talie mare Euclid, supranumite \u201eOverloaders\u201d, devin vehicule esen\u021biale pentru transportul materialelor voluminoase, al armamentului \u0219i muni\u021biei, contribuind din plin la construc\u021bia liniilor de aprovizionare pe fronturile grele din Europa \u0219i nu numai. Departamentul de Justi\u021bie intenteaz\u0103 o ac\u021biune antitrust (anticoncuren\u021bial\u0103) \u00eempotriva General Motors prin care sus\u021binea c\u0103 GM amenin\u021ba s\u0103 de\u021bin\u0103 monopolul pie\u021bei camioanelor off-road, risc\u00e2nd astfel sa sufoce competi\u021bia \u00een sectorul earthmoving. Au urmat 8 ani de procese \u00een justi\u021bie, cu un impact major asupra viitorului companiei. <\/p>\n<p>\u00cen 1968, guvernul american c\u00e2\u0219tig\u0103 procesul cu GM. Negocierile dintre General Motors si White Motor Corp. (un produc\u0103tor din Cleveland) privind v\u00e2nzarea anumitor p\u0103r\u021bi ale diviziei Euclid \u00eencepuser\u0103 \u00eenc\u0103 din 1967, iar pe 15 februarie 1968, White a achizi\u021bionat opera\u021biunile americane ale diviziei, precum \u0219i numele Euclid. <\/p>\n<p>De\u0219i v\u00e2nzarea a fost o lovitur\u0103 grea, GM a p\u0103strat fostele linii Euclid de tractoare pe \u0219enile, autoscrepere \u0219i \u00eenc\u0103rc\u0103toare frontale, din divizia Earthmoving Equipment. La acea vreme, concuren\u021ba o reprezentau Caterpillar \u0219i Navistar International, companii ce promovau tehnologii noi \u0219i solu\u021bii cost-effective. <\/p>\n<p>P\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een august 1977, White Motor Corp. a administrat Euclid ca filial\u0103 sub denumirea Euclid Inc., apoi a v\u00e2ndut-o c\u0103tre Daimler-Benz AG. Dar nici aici nu a stat mult, \u00eentruc\u00e2t \u00een 1984, Daimler-Benz a v\u00e2ndut-o mai departe c\u0103tre Clark Michigan Company \u2013 filiala de utilaje de construc\u021bii a Clark Equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Presat\u0103 de condi\u021biile economice, \u00een 1985 Clark a format un <strong>joint venture<\/strong> (50\/50) cu Volvo AB. Pentru \u00eenceput, Hitachi achizi\u021biona o participa\u021bie de 19,5% din opera\u021biunile Euclid din SUA, iar societatea era denumit\u0103 <strong>Euclid-Hitachi Heavy Equipment Ltd.<\/strong>, dar p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een 1996, Hitachi \u00ee\u0219i m\u0103re\u0219te participa\u021bia din Euclid la 40%. C\u00e2nd restric\u021biile antitrust au expirat, \u00een 1972, GM a reintrat pe pia\u021ba american\u0103 cu camionul <strong>Terex Seria 33<\/strong> \u0219i camionul de transport c\u0103rbune <strong>Terex Seria 34<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00cen 1981, GM vindea Divizia Terex c\u0103tre <strong>IBH Holding AG<\/strong>. Linia fusese cesionat\u0103 fo\u0219tilor angaja\u021bi ai I-H, care au lansat Payhauler \u00een 1982 pentru a o continua.
