Machine operators can combine machine couplers, tiltrotators, and tools from different manufacturers who are in compliance with the standard and be confident that they will be compatible with each other. Products that comply with the standard are marked &#8220;Open-S&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/steelwrist-rototilt-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"187\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-19688\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/steelwrist-rototilt-1.jpg 350w, https:\/\/mequipment.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/steelwrist-rototilt-1-300x160.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/>&#8220;Open standards make everyday life easier, whether it&#8217;s plugs for electrical sockets, computer connectors or excavator quick couplers,&#8221; says Stefan Stockhaus, CEO for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/steelwrist.com\/en-uk\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Steelwrist AB<\/a><\/strong>. &#8220;Open-S also builds on the independent and established standard that already exists for quick couplers, the S Standard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Together with Anders Jonsson, CEO for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rototilt.com\/en-gb\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Rototilt Group AB<\/a><\/strong>, they are the initiators of Open-S.<br \/>\n&#8220;We believe in healthy competition, where the industry&#8217;s players compete to have the best products,&#8221; says Anders Jonsson. &#8220;We don&#8217;t want to lock customers into a closed interface. The Open-S standard makes it easier for contractors to take the first step towards a fully automatic quick coupler system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Open and independent organization<\/strong><br \/>\nOpen-S is owned and managed by an independent organization, Open-S Alliance, which in turn is led by a council of engineers from the member companies, currently tiltrotator manufacturers Steelwrist and Rototilt. And more members are welcome: &#8220;Interchangeability is the point,&#8221; says Stefan Stockhaus. &#8220;Any reputable manufacturer who believes in the usefulness of a common standard is welcome.
